With the Semco Style customization projects we search for the style that suits your organization. We link current issues of the organization to future challenges and solutions. We do this by getting the maximum out of employees. This brings internal organizational strength and the organization course as close together as possible. In-company: existing training courses with a tailor-made offer
No organization is the same and every employer has its own unique challenges and organizational issues. How do you deal with this as an organization? Semco Style Institute dives into the organization to gain bottom-up insight into the needs and questions that exist within the organization. This allows us to better determine which training fits in order to achieve the best results. We work with a strong philosophy and conviction based on proven methods and experiences from the past. We do this with experienced trainers who understand what is going on in organizations, with experts from the Netherlands and abroad and with all other resources needed to achieve maximum results. In consultation, but also depending on the purpose of the training, we facilitate at our own locations or at an external location.
Semco Style Advisory services
Consultancy is no excuse to invoice hours for eternity. We prefer to help our clients to achieve clearly defined goals in a set period. The effort required for this is different for every customer. That is why we are happy to make a customized proposal for you. How? Semco Style Institute advises organizations on change processes. We prefer to do this together with our Semco Style Certified Consultants. Within the community of Semco Consultants we look for the most suitable consultant(s) for each assignment, whereby the final decision about who we deploy is naturally taken by the customer. Together we create new opportunities and we put our customers ahead of their competition. SemcoStyle Institute India LLP

Semcostyle India is a venture by five industry veterans with extensive experience playing leadership roles in setting and scaling up marquee corporations in India. With a shared passion of driving a more people centric democratic management in organizations, they came together to form Semcostyle India. Semcostyle India is a licensed country partner of Semcostyle Institute, cofounded by Ricardo Semler and three Dutch entrepreneurs in Netherlands in May 2016. The institute offers consulting services, training programs for consultants, change makers and entrepreneurs who are looking to create purpose driven organizations with happy employees.

The Semco Style Institute aims to fuel the ongoing evolution of the Semco Style of organizing by creating a community of Certified Consultants and Semco Style Change Makers who can learn from each other.
Origin of

Semco Style

Semco Style first came into being in 1980, when a 21-year old Ricardo Semler took over the Semco Group, a mixer and agitator manufacturer, from his father. On his first day, he fired 60 percent of all top managers. He continued to democratize the company, turning the old corporate hierarchy on its head by delegating as much decision power to the workforce as possible. In 20 years’ time, he grew the company from 90 to 3000 workers and from $4 million dollars to $212 million dollars in annual revenue - with an employee turnover of only 2%.

Today, Semco Group has evolved into Semco Partners. Semco Partners works with foreign companies to help them expand into the Brazilian market. They do this by employing a sophisticated joint venture model that combines Semco Style management practices with the partners’ expertise and product lines.

Implementation of Semco Style in the new companies thus created has yielded an IRR of 46,5%. This is a testament to the fact that, companies that adopt Semco Style are more effective, profitable and flexible, and have higher customer satisfaction and happier co-workers.

Semco Style?

Over the years, Semler has fine-tuned his management approach and strengthened it with a theoretical foundation to create the ‘Semco Style’ of organizing. Semco Style builds on five pivotal principles that form the basis for some 30 management programs and more than 100 powerful practices. These key principles are:
Stakeholder Alignment
These principles go well beyond the notion of self-governance and are interdependent: eliminate one, and the others become far less meaningful.
What Semco Style isn’t is a recipe you should simply follow, it is not dogmatic or unchangeable. Semco Style is the result of a lot of trial and error, of taking a few steps forward and a couple back, and it strives to remain a work in progress indefinitely.
